The Last Leopard, by Lauren St. John

Martine, her grandmother, and her best friend, Ben, are off to Zimbabwe to help her grandmother's friend, Sadie, run a hotel in the Matobo Hills. But when they arrive, Martine realizes that Sadie's got serious trouble. Someone wants to run Sadie off of her land and is willing to stoop to any means necessary. Not only that, but hunters and treasure seekers are overrunning Sadie's property in hopes of capturing Khan - a legendary giant leopard. Can Martine and Ben help Sadie and save Khan before it's too late?

    I cannot imagine living in Africa, but would love to visit! The Last Leopard helps me get a picture of what life is like.

    The book gets scary when Martine and Ben are apart. I wonder what will happen next when they're apart!

    I love giraffes. This book is cool! I want to ride a giraffe and I want to see a cheetah.

    This book has an adventure in every word, it would be fun living in Africa and riding a white giraffe. Having Martine's healing powers would be the best thing in the world!!!!!!!!!!:):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):):)

    This book was great. Wouldn't it be scary to trapped in a cavern with a leopard? Good thing Magnus the hornbill gave them the clue where to find her!

    I really liked this book because I thought that it would be cool to have a leopard as a friend instead of an enemy.

    Maddie and I had fun looking up the places they traveled to on their journey to Black Eagle Lodge and were surprised to find out that the Lodge and the Matapos National Park are real places. It made the book even more interesting!
